PLAINFIELD, GEORGIA, DODGE COUNTY
Store buildings at Plainfield, Georgia, once a stop on the Dublin & Southwestern Railroad from Dublin to Eastman. Oldest buildingss would be circa 1910.
Grover's General store, we used to ride bikes and get things from the store. Right next to it is the old barber shop, it was closed before I was born. Across the street, I understood was a furniture store. There used to be a railroad beside all of it, the dip where it was is still there. you can see on google maps where the brush is.
Is the bottom picture "Grovers" old store and post office? I lived in Plainfield in the late 70's early 80's
ReplyDeleteThe second picture has Grovers store and post office in it. On the left side of the building.
